Used oil waste is often dumped on the ground around workshop, causing soil pollution which can reduce function of soil. The most difficult contaminants in used to decompose are hydrocarbon compounds, highly toxic, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). concentration a sample determined by measuring total petroleum (TPH) concentration. This study was conducted determine germination ability Helianthus anuus, Less seeds media contaminated with at different concentrations Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH). results showed that TPH could inhibit speed seed germination. Treatment low 2.7% increased % germination, shoot and root length sprout biomass compared medium/intermediate (8.00%) high (12.26%) treatments controls. However, there no significant difference between all regarding time length, although treatment (2.70%) tendency for be faster than other treatments, as well longer treatments. higher time, percentage, biomass. Morphological observations growth sprouts an inhibition hair formation along content media, but did not affect shoots.
